Another good night’s sleep, another early morning. I headed off at 7 in the sunshine admiring the rock formations at Lundy Bay and the stunning views which continued all morning.

After a couple of hours or so I walked through the pretty village of Port Quinn, which was shut. So onward I went hoping for breakfast at Port Isaac.

Port Isaac was the prettiest and most bustling town I had visited so far. I arrived at 11 o’clock, the wrong time as it turned out. The first cafe on the path down into the town appeared to be an old converted chapel. I was seduced by their special, bouillabaisse made from locally caught seafood. Unfortunately they didn’t serve it until 12 o’clock, so I had a chai latte and a rocky road instead. As I entered the town centre I spied an enticing little cafe serving breakfasts, but they had just finished. So go to Port Isaac but don’t try and eat between 11 and 12am. Happily I found a shop selling harissa sausage rolls, so hunger abated onI went.

That afternoon I walked on, each cove more amazing than the last until I reached Trebarwith Bay. I stopped for beef and ale pie, so hungry I forgot to photo it until it was three quarters gone. I lingered there quite a while before continuing towards Tintagel. More awesome scenery was at hand. I finally arrived and passed the castle at about 7pm. It was deserted, the tourists having cleared off to Tintagel village where they were no doubt enjoying the last hours of their bank holiday Monday.

I started thinking about a camping spot. Flat ground, not overlooked by farms or roads wasn’t easy to find. At 8pm I was approaching Rocky Valley, not a place I imagined would suit my purpose and I was starting to get a little nervous. Happily I rounded the next corner, saw a perfect spot, pitched my tent, watched another perfect sunset and called it a night.
Day Summary
The beautiful weather and the stunning views go on and on and so do I.
